For mountain biking enthusiasts, fun weekend getaways consist of three things: mountains, trails, and lifts. With over 100 mountain biking trails in Fernie there’s sure to be a trail that fits your level of expertise. Each trail is different from the last where riders can challenge themselves on gnarl and switchbacks.
Fernie Alpine Resort Bike Park
This network of trails is one of the most popular in Fernie. With lift access to 38 mountain biking trails, there is something for everyone. Whether you’re a beginner looking for an easy ride or an expert looking for sharp corners and dangerously delightful declines, you’re in luck! They also have bike rentals so if you can’t bring your bike with you, they’ve got you covered. Open from June 23 until September 3 2018.
Fernie’s Dirt Jump and Skills Park
Have a knack for jumps, bumps, and stunts? The Dirt Jump and Skills Park is just for you. Right in the heart of Fernie, this course lies beside Fernie’s Aquatic Centre. The exciting course has dirt jumps, wooden bridges, obstacles, and a pump track!
Mountain Biking Tours and Lessons in Fernie
We’re fortunate in Fernie to have a variety of excellent coaches and guides. Guests may sign up for lessons to learn how to mountain bike! These lessons are for both individuals and groups to teach the basics as well as more advanced skills.
The Fernie Bike Guides also offer guided tours for every level of rider. Guiding services are just $30/hour plus $10 for each additional person. These guides enable guests to test their mountain biking skills in the Canadian Rockies without worrying about navigating. Perfect for the foreign rider of any skill level!
